AEAS Test (Australian Education Assessment Services)

AEAS is a standardized test and has been accepted by schools in Australia since 1985. The purpose of the AEAS is to enable the school to measure the level of knowledge and skills in different areas in order to help with the application process of the student. The Exam will take approximately 3 – 4 hours, which are divided into 3 parts as follow:

  • English Exam 2 – 5 Hours (depending on the student’s level)
  • Mathematics 45 minutes
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning 30 minutes

Benefits of AEAS Test

Many Australian schools use the AEAS test results to assess and determine the student’s potential alongside with their grades from the school. The result will help indicate the student’s language level and determine whether they require additional language course in order to prepare for the school year. Moreover, the logical part of the test or IQ will help to measure the true ability of the child without the language barrier as this part of the test consist of image or symbols. Many of the schools in Australia gives priority to this part of the score as it is believed that if a child scores well then it is guarantee that a child has the potential to develop well despite their English language level.

  • Please contact CETA to make advance reservations (7 business days) at 02-712-5300 and exam can be done at CETA office from 10am – 6pm, Monday to Saturday.

Documents Require on Examination Day

  • 2 Photo of 2×2 inches, taken within 6 months
  • School Academic Transcript (last 2 years) and 2 copies of the school’s official academic transcript in English
  • Original Passport and 2 copies of passport
  • Pen, Pencil and Eraser.
  • Examination fee is approximately AUD$ 520 and payment can be done at CETA in Thai Baht or Australian Dollars.

Roles of CETA Guardian

  • Maintain the well-being, adaptability, safety and mental health of the students.
  • Join the school orientation on behalf of the parents and helps students purchase school uniforms, textbooks and school supplies.
  • Always in communication with the school to discuss student’s development progress and advice student when needed.
  • Help with opening a bank account, purchasing Sim Card And Internet
  • Provide supervision and accommodation for student during the Exeat Weekend or during the semester.
  • If the students are not well and Host Family and schools are not available then it is the Gaurdian’s responsibility to take the students to the doctor and help arrange and advice regarding medical care claim.
  • Coordinate with Homestay or Boarding House when necessary
  • Attend the meeting Teacher and Parents Interview and inform parents of the meeting details.
  • Keep parents updated on the student’s progress and development both at school and at homestay.
  • Act as behalf of the parent to give permission to students to participates in school activities.
  • Week 1: Meet the student at school to help adjust and settle in
  • Week 2 – 6: Keep in contact with student at least once a week
  • Week 7 onwards: Keep in contact with students at least once in 2 weeks and arrange outing once a term.

How to Apply for CETA Guardianship

Why is OSHC important?

Because Diseases, illnesses and accidents can happen at any time. As Medical expenses abroad are very expensive, having OSHC help ease the burden that may occur to the students and parents. Moreover, for students to fully focus on education, the Australian Government requires all student visa holders to have health insurance covering the entire duration of their student visa. A few of International student health insurance providers in Australia include Allianz Global Assistance (OSHC Worldcare). Both the school and the CETA can process applications for students.

“Students should carry their health insurance card at all times in case of emergency they can provide the information required on the card to make it easier to file a claim for medical expenses from insurance company.”

What does OSHC cover?

In general, health insurance covers the cost of some x-ray ambulances, but does not cover medical expenses incurred through specialized treatments such as dental, vision, etc. However, each insurance company will have different insurance claims. Students and parents should understand these requirements.

Health Check Up

After submitting the required documents, the applicant must complete medical examination at the hospital or clinic assigned by the embassy. Applicants can obtain a health check form at CETA and the health check-up result will be sent directly to the embassy.

Preparation for Health Check-Up for VISA Application Process

  • No dietary requirement except no Tea and Coffee
  • If you wear glasses or contact lenses, please take it with you
  • If you are on medications, please take it with you and inform the doctor.
  • If you’re female, you must not have period during the checkup day. You must finish your period at least 5 days before the health checkup.

  • Completed Health Checkup form from Embassy (VISA application must be completed prior health checkup)
  • Original copy of Passport
  • National ID card of student
  • If student is under the age of 18 years old, either one of the parents must accompanied them at the hospital on the Health Checkup day.
  • Health Checkup fee is approximate 3,100 Baht (depending on the hospital and the fee can be paid directly to the hospital) Once the examination is done, the result will automatically be sent to the embassy.

Biometrics (Collection of Biometric Data)

Biometric data is stored in a timely, careful and non-intrusive process which It capture the face with a digital camera and digital fingerprint scanners. Some applicants who apply for an online visa may also be issued a letter asking you to go to the Australian Embassy’s Visa Application Center to provide information. If you refuse to provide biometric information or biometric data, your visa application will not be processed and you will also be reported to the Australian Embassy. Moreover, if your finger is injured or have injuries you should identify the embassy when you will be able to provide finger scan.

  • Letter from the Ministry of Immigration and Border Protection which states that you are required to provide your personal informations. (you will receive this letter after applying online with CETA)

  • Original copy of Passport and ID card
