Philosophy
Durham School is a co-educational boarding school established since 1414. For 600 years Durham School has been at the forefront of education in the North East. Although Durham is a relatively small school, it was surrounded by caring and warm environment allowing teachers and staffs to spend time with each child to understand their individual characters and gently encourage them to try new activities and take part in new ventures. That’s when they flourish and their confidence grows – as a school motto; Confidence for life.
Academic Achievement
• Of its A-level students, 3% achieved Oxbridge places
• 63.1% achieved A*-B grades
• 29% of A-level students have gone on to study at Russell Group Universities
