Welcome to the Eastern Townships International Student Program. The Eastern Townships (ETSB), in partnership with New Frontiers (NFSB) school district are renown for providing an outstanding 21st century education to students.

Situated in the southern shore of Quebec, we cover a territory that includes some of the most beautiful scenery in Canada. The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) has been serving students in the capital for over one hundred years and has graduated students who have distinguished themselves at  colleges and universities throughout the world. There are 26 high schools, 116 elementary schools and 5 secondary alternate sites in the district that are located in urban, suburban and rural surroundings.

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board provides international students with the opportunity to choose an educational path that best suits their interests and goals. Students can choose to come to Ottawa to graduate from high school or for a shorter period of study to improve their English and cultural competency.

Intensive English language classes are also available for students wanting to upgrade their academic English for entry into a high school or university. Additionally, a summer English experience camp of 2-6 weeks offers students an opportunity to experience life in Ottawa, improve their English and have fun. Over the years, OCDSB schools have been honored to host and learn from more than 4000 international students coming from 37 countries, and we look forward to welcoming more students  from around the world to our schools and to Ottawa each year.

Lakehead Public Schools (LPS) located in Thunder Bay, is the largest public board in Northwestern Ontario. LPS aims to educate, encourage, and support students to develop a passion for  learning, set high personal standards, and become active community members.

All schools offer access to modern technology and innovative education. The small class sizes are conducive to learning and provide students the ability to quickly develop relationships with peers  and staf. Students can choose a path that best suits their needs, ranging from developing English language skills to obtaining an Ontario Secondary Diploma and pursuing post-secondary  education anywhere in Canada. Schools throughout the province offer a curriculum recognized and supported by the Provincial Department of Education including  AP and IB selections. Students enjoy a complete immersion program–at school, in the community, and during the time spent with a caring family who will guide and teach them while providing a secure environment.

Our homestay  coordinators also provide assistance to our students and their host families. A coordinator will communicate with students often to ensure they have all the support they need to  succeed at their home away from home and school.

New Brunswick opens its arms and brings students into  its  families  with  the  homestay  program.  Host families from around the province welcome students from abroad into their homes – not as foreign students, but as members of their families – and surround them with  a  safe,  caring  and  supportive  environment  to deepen their cultural experience. Trained Homestay coordinators carefully screen host families to ensure a perfect fit in homes where students will engage in family activities and grow lifetime relationships. The coordinators will always be on-hand with support to both  students  and  the  families,  and  take  an  active role in the students’ academic and social lives.

We are the largest of Canada’s East Coast provinces, but small enough to offer the best of all possible worlds. We have magnificent wilderness landscapes combined stunning coastlines. New  Brunswick encompasses rivers, pine forest, mountains and the Bay of Fundy, known for extreme tides and whale – watching.

The Sea to Sky School District is located in British Columbia’s spectacular Sea to Sky corridor just north of Vancouver, in the communities of Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton. Our schools are  equipped with outstanding facilities and technology. Nanaimo offers  a West Coast community experience with stunning harbourfronts and vast recreational opportunities. Our K to 12 program offers students an opportunity to study English and  standard academic subjects in a caring and supportive environment. Students are placed for one semester, yearly, or may graduate with a BC Diploma. We offer comprehensive ELL programs to  ensure students’ needs are fully supported.

International students are fully integrated with Canadian students and are encouraged to participate in a variety of programs including athletics, music, dance, theatre, fine arts and educational excursions to Victoria, Seattle, Whistler, Long Beach, Vancouver and the Rocky Mountains.

Our schools are all B.C. Government EQA certified, with dedicated B.C. teachers. Students who study in our district and stay to graduate will earn a British Columbia Dogwood Diploma. This  diploma is recognized worldwide at any university. All international students receive ELL support at both elementary and high school level, to help them with their English language acquisition.  Each high school has an International Liaison to support the students when they have questions around school life or academics. All schools in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows have up-to-date  technology,  allowing students to integrate technology as a 21st century tool for learning.

In our high schools, students will fnd many diferent interest clubs that may include music, graphic arts, sports, writing, yearbook, and hiking to name a few. There is something for everyone.

We have our own in-house homestay program and all our students are taken care of from the time the airplane lands until they depart.

Delta School District is located 30 minutes from Vancouver and has 33 schools in three communities and touches the USA border. Surrounded by water on three sides, Delta has beautiful beaches and natural environments.

Delta has very few ESL students with 90% speaking English as their first language (excellent  English immersion). Delta has National Award winning teachers and the graduation rate is  consistently among the top in BC. Delta has free airport pick up and drop of. We have continuous entry so students can start at any time all year long.

Delta has short term, full year, and graduation programs for elementary and secondary aged students. Delta has IB and AP programs for honors students. There are traditional schools with uniforms and elite academies in dance, film production, acting, lacrosse,  golf,  hockey,  baseball,  and  soccer.  All schools have a wide variety of clubs and sports.

The Cowichan Valley,  situated on Vancouver Island, is a safe, beautiful rural area with a number of small communities nestled between Victoria and Nanaimo. It is very close to Vancouver, being just a scenic ferry ride away. The Valley has the warmest average temperatures in Canada. Activities include horseback riding, sailing, rowing, soccer, volleyball, feld  hockey, ice hockey,  basketball, and many other sports.

School District No 79 offers one of the best educations in the world. Our District has four high schools, four middle schools, and twenty-one elementary schools with a combined enrollment of  about 8000 students. The academic, sports, and performing arts (particularly film, drama and music) programs are some of the best in Canada. Computer technology programs and equipment  are up-to-date and excellent, providing a cutting edge foundation for students to build on.
