Philosophy – Special Features, Brief history

West Moreton Anglican College was founded in 1994 and has grown into one of the largest schools in Queensland. The school is situated on a safe and spacious and lush campus, fully equipped with new facilities for students to effectively utilize during their school year. Facilities include a library, swimming pool, computer lab, music room, art room and science labs. Outdoor facilities include courts for different sports such as basketball, football, volleyball, baseball, tennis and so forth. Additionally, the school provides a comprehensive assortment of courses for students to freely choose from. These courses are available from preschool to Grade 12 and include subjects such as music and sports. Furthermore, the school is staffed with experienced and qualified teachers who are able to understand and fulfil the needs of all international students attending the school.

The West Moreton Angelican College is located on the west side of Brisbane, 40 minutes away from the downtown.

Curriculum and Qualifications

The school is divided according to the following grades:

  • Junior School: Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 6
  • Middle School: Grade 7 – 9
  • High School: Grade 10 – 12

English Language Centre

Students graduating from the school will receive the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), a highly recognized certificate by both national and international universities.

Entry requirements for overseas students

Students are required to do the AEAS Test (provided by CETA) and present the results to the school. The school will then determine the student’s ability to enrol or advise students to take additional English courses to meet the school’s criteria.

English Language Support

The school provides English courses to international students who need to improve. The school is certified by the government to teach English as a Second Language (ESL), a beneficial course for international students. The classes are small in size and are taught by experienced teachers.

Pathways to University

The West Moreton Anglican College is a member of Study Ipswich which allows students to immediately enrol into the University of Queensland (Ipswich Campus) and the University of Southern Queensland (Toowoomba and Springfield Campus).

Accommodation

The school provides quality homestay services for students who plan to stay with homestay families. For students over the age of 18, they will be staying at the Unilink Accommodation Village.
